Recent WRI research indicates that restoration is taking place in Brazil. This is both in terms of natural ecosystem restoration and land productivity restoration. The article highlights that almost half the restoration is through the use of plantation forests reducing pressuring on natural ecosystems, assisting in carbon sequestration and providing rural employment. While much more still needs to be done regarding global restoration at least this WRI report indicates that a start is being implemented.
